Elim Ministries is so much more than just "church" Every member of Elim MInistries is committed to bringing Good News to everyone we meet; in every way we can. As St Francis of Assisi is reported to have once declared:
"Go to everyone and preach the Gospel ...and if you have to...
Use words!"
Although there is no substitute for preaching the Word, Scripture tells us to be doers also. James tells us that "faith without works is dead" (Jms. 2:17).
So we at Elim Ministries have developed into practical ministries that will impact those we come into contact with. Although there is no master plan other than we see a need and we want to provide assitance. We do follow the teaching of Scripture in our approach which is:
Effect
The Bible tells us that we need to change. We are seperated from God by sin. Sin is not just what we do but it is a condition, a terminal condition that needs to be treated. Jesus is the cure for the disease of Sin! Sin cuts, cripples, and causes all sorts of symptoms. Sometimes a person needs to have their symptoms treated in order to demonstrate that Jesus is the cure. This can be done through personal testimoney, practical help, and providing care, in a variety of ministries such as Oasis counselling.

Educate
Scripture tells us that for lack of knowledge the people perish. We believe that the Bible is not just an old book with no relevance for modern society. This could not be further from the truth. The Bible is the very blueprint of life itself. The Bible tells us how to live a rich a full life that will ensure peace no matter the circumstances. Most people don't appreciate this fact. However, by sharing, the Word in fresh and exciting ways, we can shape society into the community that includes everyone, and devalues none.

Edify
Our ultimate aim in everything we do is to be a blessing. The Bible tells us that as we bless we in turn are blessed by our Father in heaven. So our hope is that the information contained in these pages will be a blessing. As believers we are called to be salt and light. Just as salt flavours food, and light dispels darkness, our aim is to enrich experiences of those we come into conatact with.
