Elim - A place of respite.

After Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, they went into the desert. From there they went to a place called Marah (which means bitter). The Israelites complained to Moses that the waters of Marah were bitter. So the Lord comanded Moses to throw a peice of wood into the water so that the Israelites could drink. After they had drank, God bought them to rest at Elim where there where 12 springs and seventy palms trees.
