Help - New Christians!

Congratulations! Being a new Christian is an amazing experience. Your life has changed, maybe not outwardly, but you (and God) know it has changed. Below is listed some advice to start you off in your walk with Christ. These are only guidelines but they are valid for almost every Christian, new and seasoned:

Meditate on Scripture In the Bible it states (2 Ti. 3:16) that,"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." The bible is the very blue print of life and community. It shows how to lead a peaceful, productive, and perfect life. It prioritises life, and demonsrtates the truly important ingredient in successful living: RELATIONSHIP
The Bible tells of the whole of human history; from creation to ultimate redemption. Find out about the promises of God, and the life he has for you. You can never learn too much from the bible. However, it is is not designed like a novel. It is more like a manual, which tells a story. We recomend, that you start in the New testament. The Gospels are a good place to start because it tells you about Jesus

Join the Church. God's perfect plan is for us to be in relationship, with Him and others. Jesus established His Church to testify to His death and resurrection. It's true that there are times when God wants us to be alone but the truth is Christians need to be part of the Church for growth, and development. It's important that you find Christians who will be able to encourage and help you on your spiritual journey. If you are in doubt about where to go or how to find a church then please E-mail for help. If we have a church or fellowship in your area please come along let the folks you meet know you are a new Christian and that you have been to the website - you will receive a warm welcome! Fellowship. As a Christian you are called to live a life that makes a difference in this world. You are required to testify through your lifestyle that Jesus is alive and has changed you! This may seem like an impossible task but God did not leave us orphans. The Spirit of Christ... the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead, is now alive in you! You will act differently in many ways and this is Spirit leading you. Learn obedience to the Spirit who brings the life of Christ into your heart.

Prayer. Like all relationships there needs to be communication for it to remain healthy. Prayer is the way we communicate with God. It is not just rhyming off memorised chants, or filling the space with many words. It is simply spending time with God, both talking and listening to Him. My advice on how to pray is just be honest with God. He knows you better than you know yourself, so there's little point in trying to pretend with Him. God wants you to confess your sins and your desires to him. With your mouth you confessed Jesus as Lord. Out aloud, Glorify God, confess your sins, talk about your dreams for God wants to listen. Then listen to Him and find out what plans He has for you. Prayer is the way we make sure that we're going the right way and enables us to face the future with certainty and hope.

Be strong ... watch for the attacks. It's true that when someone becomes a new Christian there's a party in heaven - everyone rejoices. At the same time when you become a new Christian the devil will try and bring you down. He wants nothing more than to trip you up. God will support you just keep believing, praying, and mediatating on Scripture.

I know that the decision I made to become a Christian was the best decision I ever made in my life - without a doubt. I wish you all the best in your walk with God. May all your dreams come true, God Bless.
